Designed and Made in the USA

All of the design, prototyping, fabrication, sewing and assembly are done in the US in Tullahoma, Tennessee. All custom parts are made in the US. We source as much as possible in the U.S. Some standard hardware and raw materials come from outside the U.S.

High Quality Construction & Materials

Cumberland's materials were selected for long term durability. The main box, table, cabinets, and countertops are high strength to weight marine plywood. Each surface is protected by two coats of epoxy as a base plus one or more additional protective coatings that vary depending on its exposure and use. Our epoxy application process causes the first coat to penetrate deeper into the wood which adds strength.  High quality marine plywood presents a polished wood interior. Durable fabrics. 500 denier canopy fabric treated for water resistance is used for the tent dome, door, windows, and canopies. Heavy duty vinyl coated polyester fabric is used for the tent skirt.   Dexter Torflex axle with 10" electric brakes for better braking. 13" HiSpec aluminum wheels with Maxis 8008 tires

Eco and Resource Friendly

The Cumberland is low impact while towing and camping. It treads lightly. It tows small and light on the road - less gas is used to travel with it than any other camper or RV relative to its living volume.  It's light weight allows towing with a wide range of vehicles. Towing with our standard SUV, we give up about 3mpg on the highway getting 21 to 22mpg towing the Cumberland. Its impact on the campsite ground is less than many ground tents.   The resources required to manufacture and use relative to its footprint in the wilderness and its living volume is better than any other camper we know of.

Wind and Rain Resistant

Designed to shed the weather. The Cumberland’s tent is made of water resistant 500 denier canopy fabric and the seams are sealed. Without a cover, the tent is water repellent and will keep the inside dry during a rain shower as has been demonstrated with field testing. Prolonged rain will eventually penetrate any single layer tent, so a cover is included with the Cumberland to prepare you for all conditions. The unique, patented design of the cover also helps keep heat in on cold days and is very good at keeping sunny heat out on bright, hot days. The Cumberland was designed to withstand heavy winds. During field testing, the Cumberland has withstood high winds with gusts over 50mph on several occasions.

Oh!  The Places You'll Go!
                                     Dr. Seuss

More places than you have imagined. Take the Cumberland wherever you can tow it - boondocking at a clearing in the woods, to a river’s edge, under a dark sky in the desert, or an RV pad in a national park. Use it as a base camp for hiking, a mobile fishing lodge, or on a wandering camping trip. The Cumberland has been used to do all these things in about every kind of weather.
